Store-Sheep Values at Waipukurau TO-DAY'S SALE A very sound market ruled for store sheep at Waipukurau to-day, when late rates for bogoets werO tulJy maintained. Soine ot the mediumgrown entries made particularJj' good selling. Competition was keen for all sorts, and the yarding was short of requirements. Woolly ewe hoggtets made to 34/- and mediuni-growu wether hoggets unshorn a« lambs Well-grown shorn wetiieh hoggets made to 23/-. A record price was reached fir lat an l io-. ward wethers when an ear.yskoiu rifing 4-th line made the fpi(-n-did value of 29/3. The few breeding ewes oll'ered were not sufficient to test the market, the principal entry being a line of Southdown cross. The.iat sheep pen piovided a much bettey range of quaiity than ha3 been yarded for some fh13/1The top pen of heavy ewes made 34/1, and choice-quality medium-grown Southdown 2-tbs made to 32/-. Many of the entries of black-faced hoggets were smail grown and in light to medium ofder oniy. The fat- cattlc pens were confincd to nve entries of userul sorts. Heavy cows made £10 14,- and mediumgrown Aberdeen Angus bullocks not carrying a heavy finish spld to £12 1/-. Late rates at Stortforcl Lodge were made for these pene. ltealisations were as follow:-7-« FAT SHEEP In from Porangahau, 36 smail-grown" black-faced hoggets, in very light condition, made 18/-. - An entry of mixed-quality medium to heavy ewes sold well at 21/-. A further entry of aged ewes, in poor condition, sold at the only bid of 18/-. • An entry o£ 10 prime-finished South/down 2-ths, a choice-quaiity mutton entry, sold at '32/1. A pen of woolly ltomney meditimgrown hoggets, in medium order, sold at 24/-. An entry of 24 prime-quality Southdown 2-ths, an attraetive offering, sold at 30/-. A pen of heavy prime ewes, well woolled, realised 34/1. On account of Mr M. Teegan, Takapau, 29 small to medium-grown blackfaced hoggets, fattened ott turnips, were passed at 23/6. A further entry of 30 similarly-bred smallex-grown hoggets, in. medium ordcr, realised 20/0.
STORE SHEEP On account of Mf Av V. Harris, Springhill, 158 .woolly Romney ewe hoggets, in healthy order, having been fed on turnips and .showing good condition, realised 34/-. "" : Offi the same property, 130 Romhey wethcr hoggets, medium grown/ well woolled, in light condition but very healthy and sound, sold at 23/1. In from Hatuma, 130 fairly-grown Romney wether hoggets, well woolled and in forwaTd order, healthy and sound, realised 24/-. Au entry of late-shorn well-grown forward 2-th wethers sold at 27/3. In from Porangahau, 204 mediumgrown Romney wether hoggets, shorn as lambs and jn light condition, sold at 19/11. An entry of 40 fairly-grown Romney wether hoggets, unshorn as lambs and in medium to forward order, made 27/6. A line of 65 small-grown Romney ewe hoggets, woolly and in light condition and mixed in the wool, sold at 24/5. Shorn as lambs. 100 Romney ewe hoggets, medium grown and in light order, made a good sale at 25/8. In from Ashcroft Station, 50 early-. shorn fat and 'forward rising" 4-th wethers, well framed and in splendid order, sold at 29/4. An offering of 113 Southdown-cros ewes, depasturing with Southdows rams since March 1, were passed at 26/-. On account of Mr A. F. Harris, Springhill, 105 Romney wether hoggets, well grown and shorn as lambs, being in very healthy condition, met the market at 23/-. FAT CATTLE. On account Ashcott Station, eight woll-bred medium to keavy young Aberdeen Angus bullocks, medium finisk, .a good butcker's lot, sold in a line at £12. / ' On account same vendor, a furtker eigkt similar bred bulloclm, showing tke samo finisk as tke previous pen, not kaving. any excess condition, met tke market at £12 1/-. On account Mr. T. Butler, nine wellbred young, keavy, prime quaiity Aberdeen Angus cows, in splendid order, an attraetive entry, met witk keen competition to sell at £10 17/-. A furtker entry of eigkt Aberdeen Angus bullocks similarly grown to tke previous pens and equally well finisked, realised £11 17/6. STORE CATTLE. On account Blackkead Station, 41 korned Hereford cows (r.w. A|,A.), kowing up well, sold at £7 10/-. These cows, wkiek included a number of young sorts, were ratker ligkt in condition. Tkree aged dairy cows, in poor order and due to ealve tkis month, wero hard to sell from £1 17/6 to £3 8/=.
