The secretary, Mr. W. E. Chamberlain, said the experiments were with 31 posts which were erected ]n No- J vnuber. 1925, at ihe showgrouuds. As ttu-h post was uumbered, they were t.ihen out pcriodically anih a rcporl on the condition of each uas preparcd. The Inst examiuatiou ot the posts was in July of last year, when they were moved from the showgrouuds and were used to fence in a plantation :• longside the railway iine ncar Ma kaiaka. The rcport, which is to be se'nt to Uie Huwkc.'s Bay assoeiation, is as follows: — .P.ost 3, Euc. Rostrata, oue fairly gOL'd, oue deeayed; post 2, Euc. Macart.huri, still good; 3, Bolryoides, no good; 4, Globulus, one good, oue shghtly deeayed, oue faii'Jy good; 5, Acacia Pseudo Robinia, still sound, split with staples; 6, Euc. Pipcrita, slighj'ly uusound, but still good posts; 7, Euc. Viminatis, part deeayed but still paar posts; 8, Euc. Fastigata, still goud;, 9, Euc. Ovata, deeayed; 10, Sequoia Sempervirens (Redwood) not .taken up, but appear fairly sound; 11, Oupressus Macrocapa, sap gone, heart
