The Inst examiuatiou ot the posts was in July of last year, when they were moved from the showgrouuds and were used to fence in a plantation :• longside the railway iine ncar Ma kaiaka. The rcport, which is to be se'nt to Uie Huwkc.'s Bay assoeiation, is as follows: — .P.ost 3, Euc. Rostrata, oue fairly gOL'd, oue deeayed; post 2, Euc. Macart.huri, still good; 3, Bolryoides, no good; 4, Globulus, one good, oue shghtly deeayed, oue faii'Jy good; 5, Acacia Pseudo Robinia, still sound, split with staples; 6, Euc. Pipcrita, slighj'ly uusound, but still good posts; 7, Euc. Viminatis, part deeayed but still paar posts; 8, Euc. Fastigata, still goud;, 9, Euc. Ovata, deeayed; 10, Sequoia Sempervirens (Redwood) not .taken up, but appear fairly sound; 11, Oupressus Macrocapa, sap gone, heart
