Napier A Team Wins - Collins Cup SIX TEAMS COMPETE

PALMERSTON N. Last Night. St. Andrew's hall was tlie scene of great activity 011 Saturday afternoon, vvhen the annual inter-centre and subcentre eompetition for the Collins Cup ' took place. Under the auspices of the Manawatu Centre of the Red Cross, he&ded by Mr. J. K. Paton, secretary, excellent arrangements had been made and wken the six teams competing were drawn up for inspection their appearance drew forth most favourable comment. There were six teams competing drawn from Napier A and B {the forrner holders), Hastings, Hawera, Wellington and Palmerston North, the eompetition being divided Into seven sections with separate judges for each. as follows: — IJniforcns and deportment, Misses Plower and MeCauley; bandaging, Miss Kenning; dressings, Miss Dean; oral questions, Miss Powellj sponging, Miss Crombiej bed-making, "Miss Lawson; temperatures and charting, Miss Kelly. At a pleasant social gathering in the •vening the holders, Napier A, were declared the winners with 640 marks, Palmerston North being a close second with. 635. Following were the detailed xe#ults: — * Napier A: Uniform and deportment, 95; bed-making, 97; bed bathing, 95; oral, 83; bandaging, 90; dressings, 100; temperatures and charting, 80; total, 640 points. Palmerston North: Uniform and deportment, 90; bed-making, 96; bed bathing, 94; oral, 82; bandaging, 95; dressings, 90; temperatures and charting, 88; total, 635 points. Hawera: Uniform and deportment, 90; bed-making, 95; bed bathing, 80; oral, 71; bandaging, 95; dressings, 88; temperatures and charting, • 90; total, 609 points. Wellington: . Uniform and deportment, 85; bed-making, 94; bed bathing, 80; oral, 74; bandaging, 85; dressings, 86; temperatures and charting, 66; total, 570 points. Napier B: Uniform and deportment, €5; bed-making, 85; bed bathing, 80; oral, 72; bandaging, 85; _ dressings, 86; temperatures and charting, 70; total 563 points. Hastings: Uniforms and deportment, 85; bed-making, 92; bed bathing, 86; oral, 70; bandaging, 85; dressings, 74; temperatures and charting, 6J; total, 552 points. Mr. A. J. Graham presided over the funetion, associated with him being the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. Ai E. "Manaford, Dr. Alexander Gillies, jbominion chairman of the Red Cross Society, Mr. J. K.
