Wind Affects the Play rangers and y.m.c.a. win The strong wind which prevailed on Nelson Park, Napier, during the greater part of Saturday afternoon affected Soccer play to a considerable extent. Time and again promising shots were carried wide of the mark, and sometimes on to the adjoining hockey fields r' Under the circumstances the scoreB, though indicating which were the better teams, ' were not a true criterion as to the actual difference in play. Rangers rather easily defeated Watersiders by six goals to nil, and Y.M.O.A. scored a four-to-two victory over TJnited after a much more even game. The results and seores were: — SENIOR GAMES Rangers (6) v. Watersiders (nil): Tickner (4) and McCullum (2) goaled for Rangers. Mr J. Lawrence was^referee. Y.M.O.A. (4) v. TJnited (2): Heath (2), Anderson and Rigby scored for Y.M.O.A. and W. Bryan and Vannan for TJnited. Mr J, Gibson was referee. SCHOOLBOYS' MATCHES Schoolboys' Soccer matches in Napier on Saturday resulted as follow: — JUNIOR Magpies (3) v. Y.M.O.A. (nil). High School A (2) v. H.S.O.B. (nil). THIRD GRADE Intermediate A (3) v. High D (1). France House (1) v. Marist (nil). High O (2) v. High B (nil). FOTJRTH GRADE Port (1) v, Intermediate 0 (1). Intermediate P (3) v. intermediate B (nil). FIFTH GRADE Nelson Park (3) v. Intermediate F (uil). Hastings Street (nil) v. Central (nil). hawke's bay team Fol)owing is the Hawke's Bay representative Soccer team to play Poverty Bay at Gisborne on August 21.— J. Vannan,' T. ,Gosling, W. Bryon, W. Clark, Neilson, F. Smith, J. Heath, Anderson, D. Galbraith, J. Clark, Mackie, H. McCullum. The team will leave Napier at 6 p.m. on August 20.
