"SOUTHERN EOSES" AND "THE WILDC ATTER. ' ' Floral dances — light-hearted gaiety — . tuneful songs — and infectious humour — are woven adroitly together in ."Southern Roses," which screens at the Municipal Theatre to-night, with George Robey, England's foremost humorist, in the starring role, as "Old % Higgins, ' ' the "Paint King. ' ' Heading the sterling supportlng cast is Gina Malo, in the attractive role of Mary Roland, a young English society girl, who goes to Barcelona to sing »,in a night club, as an- escapade. . In "The Wildcatter," also at the Municipal Theatre, there is developed the intense drama, oxcitement, danger, romance and lust for "blaek gold," that has takeh place in the oil fields of America. "Oil." That word, shouted like "Gold" was shouted- in 1849, electrifies men. The same wild yell unleashes a horde of humanity for the oi! rush iiimed for "The Wildcatter." The picture tells the story of an Oil strike and the advontures of Scott Colton, playing the leading role."
