Prsss Aasrtfiat Min. 1

Will be Allowed to Cart Own Produce

(By TelearaDh

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A definite assurance that the Govexmment had no intention of imposing any restrictions on farmers using their own tracks for the carriage^ of their produce was given by the Mxnister of Railwavs, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, to-day, when asked what would be the position of farmers as a result of the Government buyingf-out transport services operating parallel with the raxl-* ways. The Minister said that the Government had never . oontemplated imposing any such restrictions on fanners but that plans were in hand with a view to giving thev publio a flexible first-elass goods service which he hoped and expected would be so attractive that it would be to the advantage of farmers to.use it.
