AUSTRALIA PREPARES
National Security Measures CANBERRA, Aug. 6. The Sun correspondent states that national security measures for Australia have been advanced by the Commonwealth Defence Council to a staga where, in the event of war, the whole resources of the Commonwealth could be organised at a minute's notice. The council has made a eomplete survey of all aspects of industrial transport and other activities and mapped out a coordinated plan to place the nation on a war footing' in which each section of tho people will have its duties clearly defined. Sir R. A. Parkhill, Minister of Defence, announce'd that similar action ■had been taken by New Zealand followiug consultations between the Auetralian and New Zealand Governments last year and also in Londoa recently.
