PARTIES IN HONOUR OF MISS OLGA HENDERSON
A jolly evening was given by Mrs Pope and Miss Hilda Pope, of Townshend street, Hastings, on Tuesday ih honour of Miss Olga Henderson, whose marriage to Mr H. Percy, of Wellington^ takes place next week. During the evening numejous eompetitions and games were enjoyed> the winnens. being Miss D. Taylor an.d Miss E.-Hawley, and after a delicious supper the gifts .were opened and displayed a range of very useful articles for the batfiroom. Those present wero the Misses M. MacArthur, O. Henderson, D. and M. Taylor, N. Sigley, E. Hanley, L, Lord, L. Pattison, J . Renouf, and N.4 Henderson. Miss Henderson was also the guest of honour at an evening arranged by the members of the Girls' Friendiy Society, of which she is a member. About 30 members were present, and aleo Mrs MacArthur and Mrs Henderson, and everyone spent a most enjoyable evening. There were numerous competitions, and after supper tho guest of honour was asked to open her many parcels, which were all very useful and very much appreciated. Miss Henderson thankcd all present for their kindness, and the evening eloscd with the singing of "For She'e a Jolly Good Fellow" and "Auld Lang Syne." Miss Henderson, who was previously on the staff of Messrs. Simpson and Bate, of Hastings, was the recipient of a substantial cheque before leaving on Saturday. She was also presented with a beautiful cryetal salad bowl by Mra R. Sunderland and Mrs A. E. Greenwood, ex-secretary and present seeretary respectively of the Plunket Society, on behalf of the society. A most enjoyable gift afternoon was held at tlie residence of Mrs Clem Watkins on Thursday jn honour of Miss Glga Henderson. The afternoon was spent in competitions and musical items. An exhibition dance was given by Miss Doris Shapleski. Competitions were won by Misses Percy and Smith. Ai'ter tea had been enjoyed Miss Henderson was presented with a case packed with gifts which were all most useful, and tlxanked all for their kindness. The afternoon was arranged by Mrs C. Watkins and the Misses M. and K. Houlahan. Tlie guests were: Mesdames F. Henderson, Redshaw, Rogexs, V. McKenzie, Little, Arliens, Kirk; Misses M. Percy, 0. and N. Henderson, D. Shapleski, M. Smith, R. Long.
