Modern and Old-time Dancing Enjoyed By Dancers

The annual ball of the Hastings Returned Soldiers' Association; which was lield last night, was an outstanding success, the Hastings Assenibly Hall being filled to over-flowingj with dancers who enjoyed every moment of the evening, Carefully-planned arrangements excellently carried out by a most capable cpmmittee, resulted in one of the year's most successful balls. The R.S.A. eommittee were: — Messrs P. J. Priests president ; P. J. S. George, vice-president; G. H. Roach, L. J. Mackersey, F. H. Goldfinch, D. S. McLeod, O. G. Wilkinson, L. J. «B. Hammond, S. I. Jones, W. A. Mclntyre, G. Prebble and F. lt. Field, who were assisted by several other association members. The hall was very gaily decorated witli streamers and balloons, and lurge green paper shades with fiowers in confcrasting colours. Huge? ferns were placed at each side of the stage, where easy chairs were arranged for the onlookers. Over the stage were the letters "R.S.A." in silyer. A splendid programme of tunes for modern and. old-time dancing was played by Les. Henry's orchestra, and Mr Pliil Walden assisted with the supper extras. In th'e supper-room a tempting supper was arranged on the long, tables, which were decorated with bowls of iceland poppies. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Mrs T. A. Hill,' who was assisted by' the following eommittee : Mesdames Selwyn Chambers, T. H. Lowry, H. N. (Joleinan, F; J.'Hull, F. H. Goldfinch, C. Prebble, S. I. Jones, C. E. Rivers, Kirschberg, Wilkie, R. D. Brown, P. J. S." George. V. A. Thomson- and L. J. Mackersey. The decoration eommittee were Mesdames F. R. Field (in eharge), H. Wv Abbott, - Cohen and T. Pickett.. » Among those present were: — Sir Andrew and Lady Russell, the latter wearing a -eown of deep burgundy panne velvet with a diamond clasp at the neek, - Mr P.
