WELLINGTON, Last Night. In a scientific display of boxing to-night Jack Jarvis (Eltham), lightweight professional champion of the Dominion, outpointed Young Gildo (tho Filipino) over 15 rounds. Jarvis had a clear-cut win, showing sound defence and better condition than his opponent. Jarvis scaled 9st. 81b. and Gildo three pounds less. The bout was witnessed by the Springboks and their captain, P. J. Nel, was introduced to the large audience who gave him an ovation.
