WOMEN'S COMMUNITY CLUB
Two Plays Read An entertaining play-reading programme was enjoyed by the members of the Hastings Women 's Cemmunity Glub yesterday afternoon when two oneact plays were splendidly read by some of the members, the afternoon having beon arranged by Mrs E. V. Simpson, who ifl at present acting leader of the circle. Bright flowers were arranged in the lounge, bowls of iceland poppies and wall baskets oi pinlc japonica and greenery. Here the members enjoyed the readings, and later they adjourned to another room for afternoon tea. The plays read and their casts were: "Wurzel Flummery" (A, A. Milne), Mrs A. I, Rainbow^ Robert CrawshaW, M.P.j Mrs K. E. Crompton, Margaret Crawshaw; Mrs Brunton Williams, Viola Crawshaw j Mrs E. Riley, Eichard Neriton, M.P.; Mrs D. H. Hooker, Dennis Clifton; directions were read by Mrs G. Steevens. The second play was "Five Characters in Search of a Change" (Hugh Beresford), ancl the characters were Miss Helen Ford, George Cramp; Mrs E. V. Simpson, Mrs Stevcns; Mrs J. Wright, liev. B. Goodwin; Mrs Lovell-Smith, Lady Cecelia Cavendish; Mrs D. W. Hursthouse, Mi's Mdnley; Mrs- K. E. Crompton, Mary Goodmau; Mrs W. J. White, Duke of Barchoster; directions wero read by Mrs D. H. Ilookcr. Among thoso present wore: Mrs E. V. Simpson^ Mrs W. J. White, Mrs R. Puflett, Mrs H. Lovell-Smith, Mrs Donalcl Robertson, Mrs H. 1. Simson, Mrs H. W. C. Baird, Miss A. Seal, Mrs J.
