"DANCING MAD" WIFE
Husband's Jump Into Lake "My wife is the cause of the trouble. She is d^ncing mad." Edward Richmond, aged 32, of 'Romford, Essex, gave this explanation to a policeman when found lying on bis back in a lake. , A£ Romford, where he was charged with attempting to commit suieide, it was said that he took iodine and tben thew himself into the lake after having a, few words with his wife. Richmond told the magistrates that he did it.only to frighten her. He did not take enough iodine to kill a mouse, the water was only 3ft. deep, and he had certificates for swimming, "I thought I was losing her. and 1 hoped that by giving her a fright I should get her back," Richmond added. * On promising that he would not do it again, Richmond was bound over for two, years.
