Fifth Year Leading Sire ' BEST SEASON OF CAREER For the fifth successive season Hunting Song, with winners of close on £16,000, is the loading sire of the Dominion and if he again tops the list next year he will equal the record of Martian in New Zealand. His acbievement during the present season has been all the more noteworthy in that none of his progeny secured an outstanding place among the winners, although in past seasons he has been represented by such ' outstanding gallopers as Pink Coat, Sporting Blood, Hunting Cry, Gaine Carrington, Stretto and View Halloo, and. jumpers of the ability of Huntique and Aladdin. Performers who helped to compile Hunting Song's record during the 193637 racing year ineluded the following:— Black Frost, Clarion Call, Cyclonic, En Vidette, Fossicker^ First Chapter, Gaelic Song, Gay Hunter, Happy Hunting, Hunting Go, Hunter 's Morn, Huntette, Hunting Bag, Hunting Cat, Hunting Lodge, Hunting Mara, Huntingmore, Hunting Queen, Hunting Spy, Hunting Star, Jaybird, Jazz King, Jubilee Song, Kentueky Song, Knockfin, Lady Diana, May Song, Maori Song, Nelumbo, Old Surrey, Pakanui, Petqr Beckford, Pennycomequiclc, Rapa Waiata, Rollicker, Ruinette, Sporting Song, Sporting Gift, Tavern Song and Tupai. When first he headed the sires' list, in 1932-33, Hunting Song's progeny were credited with £9646. 10/-, and iu the three following years the amounts were £10,301, £15,194 and £14,013 10/respectively. Tho Hunting Song clan in New Zealand has won approximately £99,000.
