VITAL RUGBY MATCH
Championship Depends on M.A.C.-Marist Game NEXT SATURDAY'S. FIXTURE Great interest will be taken in the M.A.O. ▼. Marist Eugby game in Hasti ings next Saturday, for a great deal depends npon it. Should Mariat win, then it is more than likely that the Hawke's Bay Eugby Union will declare the compettion closed, for Marist will be in an unassailable position for the club championship. On the other hand; victory to M.A.C. would leave the position still doubtful, for then Marist and M.A.O. would be equal in points, though the Maoris would have played one game fewer than Marist. This outstanding game, against Technical Old Boys, was postponed last month owing to unfavourable weather, conditions in Hastings. Unfortunately for the clubs con-i ecrned, tihs game would not take place > for at least three weeks, September 4 being the tentative date, for in the meantime there is the provincial jepresentative programme to be played. Though the sub-union anticipates a record attendance for the game on Saturday, no special arrangements are to be made. for additional seating ac_ commodation. The covered stand ia estimated to seat about 800, and the two Wings will accommodate a similar number. There is also the open sfiand on the eastern side of the ground. r*
