TWYFORD WOMEN'S INSTITUTE HOLD VERY SUCCESSFUL BALL
The Twyford Women' s Institute held a most successful ball at Fernhill Hall on Friday night. The floor was in excellent condition, and this, together with the dance-impelling melodies of Les Henry's orchestra and the delicious s upper served by the ladies' eommittee, combined to mahe a most enjoyable evening. iixtras were played by Mr P. Flowers and. Mr A. Orbell. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Wng (Napier) and her paitner, \ iVir A. D. Jensen (.Asiiiey Clinton). Among the dancers were the lollowmg members of the eommittee: — lvlrs Manson, black irock, worn with a black panne velvet coat reversed with cherry satin. Mrs A. J . Burge, ninon frock in pastel shades of pink and blue with pink huwers at the neekline. Mrs Carrington, midmght blue matalasse triinmeti with white flowers. Mrs Masters, black- lace irock iinished with diamante ciasps and buckle. Mrs Orbell, spring green floral georgette, the shuuiaer drapings eaught at the waistline. Mrs Knuckey, biack lace- irock with puketi sleeves. 1 Mrs Jiainbridge, Freiich ueedlerun iace, tlie V neca iinished with a spray of bright red roses. Mrs 1. J. Burge, peach blossom pink ueedlerun lae t-rinmied with tiny frills. Mrs J. McNab, pink grano crepe, the V back Iinished witii black silk velvet strappmgs and black velvet sash. Utliers present were: — .Miss M. Burreli, liouey gold matalasse worn with a gold leai belt. Miss D. Petersen, pastel green cotelle wiru coatee to toue. Jiainbridge, pastel blue ilorai georgette tlie skirt being deeply lrilled. Miss A. JBmiiierson/ delphinium- blue satin worn with a red spray." McLeod, black silk crepe worn witii a ring velvet coatee. Miss Biliy Trotter, spring blossom pink silver thread talieta, the skirt lully tlared. Miss J.'Tait, pale blue satin frock, limsiied vvith spray of salmou pink flowers. Miss P. Jarvis, sea green silver tliread cotelle, having shoulder drapings iorming a scari effect. Miss N. Gumbley, cerulean blue satin, the bodice Iinished with blue and silver net cape Miss D. Griffiths, mulberry toned needlerun lace having gold t-rimmiugs and girdle. Miss 1. Bone, iorget-me-not blue ring velvet trimmed with silver lame. Miss lt. 'Flowers, coronation red talieta, the corsage iinished with tiny buttons. Miss A. Hackett, black lace and georgette frock worn with gay coloured posy. Miss White, check taffeta in shades of green, black, and white. Miss A.
