' in Ihe £ this year, a slight increase upon ibat of last year brought about by increased levies of neighbouring local bodies, though in actual fact the borough rates have been slightly reciaced. . 1 Accompanying the rate demand this year is a: concisely-compiled circular letter from the Mayor, Mr. G. A. Maddison, setting out the various features of the comprehensive rate, how it is compiled, and the detailsr of the various levies and rates, together with some indication of the savings that the Borough Council has been able to make ' for the ratepayers in regard. to various services, such as sewer, rub* bish collection and water. •
