Maori Intoxicated in Charye of Car ONE MONTH IN GAOL

GISBORNE, This Day. "YouTl not be called on to pay a fine on this oceasion," said Mr W. H. Walton, S.M.", in the Police Court this morning to Iriapa Renata. "This is the fourth time you've been before the Court and eonvicted for being intoxicated in charge of a motbr-car." Renata was sentenced to a month's imprisonment and prohibited from obtaining a licence for three years when the police stated that the accused was so drunk that he could have been arrested for drunkenness. Renata said be had nothing to say except to ask for three or four weeks to pay the fine, as he had a wife and three children to support.
