OPERATION ON MAN'S HEART SUCCESSFUL

(Received 31, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 30. Tfce Times MUan eorrespondent says that an extraordinary surgical operation was earried out by Professtor Aldo Defrise on a 52-year-old man who suffered from pericarditls. He made an opening between the ribs, took hold of the man's heart, cut the pericardium, removed it, then put the heart back in its place, and stitched up the wound. The operation lasted 80 minutes, and was completely successful. The man is now in good health.
