WAIPUKURAU, Last Mglit. The nion.th.ly sitting of the Magistrate 's Court took plaee in Waipukurau to-day, with Mr J. Miller, S.M., presiding. There was a light calendar, made up chiefiy of traffic offences. Jtidgment for plaiutiffs by default •waa given in the following cases:— W. £. Fisher v, E. L. Gordon, £4 4/10, costs £1 6/6; Waipawa Hospital Board v. J. Wilson, £4 16/-, costs 16/-; F. H. Boyle v. Fred Gocina £5 11/-, costs £1 10/6; Public Trusfee (as executor for John Winstone deceased) v. TRAFFIO OFFENCES "The warning stage has gone past in these cases," commented Mr Millet when dealing with a number of breaches of the traffic regulations. The finea imposed were m most cases light ones, but the Magistrate hinted that there Would probably be heavier penalties in fttture for this class of offence. Failure to produce warrants of fitness flg« ured prominently on the charge sfieets. The following fines Were imposed:— Clive Thelwell, of Porangahau, for driving a vehicle in respect of which np warrant of fitness had been issued, 15/- and costs 12/-; Messrs Williamii & Kettle Ltd., for exceeding their "li« censed load on a 4 truck, £1 and costs 10/-; Clifford James Miller, for stopping oposite a vehicular entrance in the znaiu street of Waipukurau, 5/' and costs 10/-; P. J. Williams, for stopping on the o^-side of a. stationary yehicle in the main street - oi Waipukurau, 5/- and costs 10/-; James Olement Nicholls, for stopping on the iucorrect / side of the main Street in Waipukurau, 5/- and costs 10/-; Peggy Joan Boys, for driving without a license at Wanstead, 10/- and costs 11/-; Norman M. Paulsen, for exceeding, the li censed load on a trade vehicle, £l and costs 10/-; Chas. Godfrey Hall, for stopping on the offi-side of a stationery vehicle, 5/-, and costs 10/- j Frank Leonard Browning, for usin^ a motor ve» hiple with no warrant of fitness, 10/and costs 10/-,
