Mr Tombleson's Offering at Nuhaka The special offering of well-bred polled and horned Hereford bulls, account of Mr. T. W. G. Tombleson, "Tahaenui," was made by the associated auctioneers to a moderate attendance of buyers, who were chiefly from the Poverty Bay district. 'The bulls, which were chiefly rising two-year-olds, were well grown and came forward in good condition. They were good examples of the breed, being low set, well coupled and strong in character. The dams were all rich in "Bushy Park ' ' blood bred by Mr. G. P. Moore, of Wanganui. A number of these young bulls were. sired by Highwood Gay Grove, who was imported from Cauada. The top priee was 50 guineas for a particularly fine polled bull sired by Eoyal Gem I6th, who was bred by Mr. F. E. Humphreys, the weil-known polled Hereford breeder, of Gisborne. The offering included six rising two-year-old Aberdeen Angus bulls which -nade to 45 gns. The whole offering were a fine lot of young sires of the desirable type for breeding of the class of beef required on the British market.
