(From

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. I The t'ortnightiy meeting of ihe Central Hawke's Bay Rugby Sub-Union was held to-night. Mr. A. L. McCormick iiresided over Messrs. Parsons, E. G. Kedgeley, C, Gallagher, W. Outhbertson, W. J. PMUips, T, Nieol, J. Ferguson, O. M. Wiiliamson (seeretary). Apologies were received froin Messrs. E. D. 8harpe, E. 8." Ricketts, aud A. W. Parsons. The curtain-raiser for Ihe Palmorhtou North-To Aute Moascar Uup match ut Waiiiawa on August 1 will be Waipukurau District Jligh School versus YVaipawa JJistrict High School. It vvas left m the hands of "Messrs. V. Parsons and LO. G. Kedgeley to eomplete the arrangements. Jjilletlng of the Palmerston JN'orth teaxn was left in the hands of Mr. F, Eagie, Waipawa. On a inotion by Mr. \V. Outhbertson it was decided to postpone all games arranged for August 14, the aate of the first test at Wellington. The question of whether the SubUnion should charge Takapau for a gate in the second round of the competition was discussed. Mr. Outhbertson said that Takapau had. been very unfortunate in the number of games allotted them, and asked on behalf of the Takapau Olub that eitheii the gate be allocated to Takapau or one or two junior games be ^ayed at Takapau to help the club's funds. The chairinan explained that a letter askmg for the gate hac1 been written to the Takapau Club, and it was decided to eonfirm the letter. St. Patrick's Oollege, Wellington, wrote consenting to play their annual match against Te Aute Oollege in Centray Hawke's Bay on September 4. — It was decided to arrange the locality of the match at a later date. A motion by Mr. Ferguson that the final match of the senior eompetition between Takapau and "Waipukurau, arranged for Saturday, August 28, be played on a separate day instead of the day of the Te Aute- 'Varsity match, was held over to the next meeting. Mr. Iperguson pointed out that the subrunion would benefit financially if that game were played on a separate day as main fixture. Mr. Outhbertson considered that a good Rugby programme would be appreciated by patrons of the sport and considered that both games should be played on the same day. The secretary informed the aubunion that he had asked the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union for 23 tickets for the first Springbok Test at Wellington. This had been agreed to and he had forwarded £23, but had received only 2p tickets and £2 change. — The chairinan thought that an explanation was required, as the 23 seats had been ordered and no-one would want to lose their seats. It was decided, on a motion by Mr. Outhbertson, that the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union be asked to give an explanation in regard to the other two seats ordered. Mr. Phillips referred to the lack of consideration given by some players to the way in whieh they left the grounds and tjressing sheds on practiee nights. It was decided that the caretaker be insjructed to withhold the key of the dressing rooms unless specially applied for by the teams' coaches.
