Wairere Club Meets Mr Morton Burt presided over i Ixo . Wairere Bowling Club's annual meoting which was held in the club's pavilaon and drew a large attendance of meuibers. The annual report and balance-sheet, which showed "the club to be in a satisfactory position, were adopted with very ilttle discussion. The eleetion of ofiicers for the incoming "season created keen contests and resulted as foliow: — President, Mr J. Wray; vice-presidonts, Messrs F. Lec, A. A. Hastings, Geo. Allan; committee, Messrs P. Eddy, T. liowe, W. Kelly, J. Tonkin and C. M. Butcher; soie selector, Mr H. Newbegin; delegates to Hawke's Bay Bowling Centre, Messrs T. Eowe and J. Wray; auditor, Mr A. McKechnie ; treasurer, Mr E. Lee; secretary, Mr C. S, Findlay; green superintendent, Mr T. Bowe. Mr Burv stated that Mr R. C. Runciman, the retiring treasurer, had decided, ownng to ill-health, not to seek reelection, and he was un'animously elected a life member of the club for iiis '23 years of ong servico. Soveral new members were eloctod. A great dcal of discussion took plaee .egarding the subscription for the incoming season. It was eventually decided to leave it as at present. The green superintendent, Mr Rowe, reported that the green was coming away very well, and he hoped, with the aid of his fellow-bowlers, to have the green ready for an early start. The ladies' committee kindly donated a lovely new flag with the club's initials thereon, and are to be heartily thanked for their splendid gift. The competitions, as usual, created a •ot of discussion. but it was decided to aiake no change and carry on as in ;;revious yearS. A light supper was provided by the ladies' committee, and a hearty vote of tlianks to the retiring president aud his cojnirijtteo tormiuated a very successful galhering.
