Had tftxe high fielding standard of the fi-x-st hour been maintained England probably would have been out for about 100. New Zealand then almost certainly would have won on form. . The bome team was unlikely to have uscd spin bowlers with so few runa belween the sides. Tt pi-obably will ' be many years before New Zealand will 'have sudh a wonderful chance to win an olfieial Test. Mr. Howard Marshall, writing in the Daily Telegraph, says that New Zealand had tlxe game safely in their Wnds and then let it slip through their fingcrs
