(Recexved 20, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 29. C. G. Macartney, commenting in the Herald on the second cricket test between New Zealand and England, says: "The result was not surprising, but from New Zealand 's point of view somewhat disappointing; nevertheless, England, after making a good start and applying the closure 'in the first innings, cannot be jubilant at the margin. New Zealand 's bowlers showed to advantage in the second half of the match, and if their batsmen had performed with equal -satisfaction they probably would have won. The dismissal of England for 187 was a# bowling triumph for an attack designated as weak, and a fine acliievement by Cowie. New Zealand was then in a sound position, but the batting failed to consolidate it. - "Tl^p debacle of New Zealand 's second' innings appears to have been caused by inexperience. e Englishxnen possess knowledge to deal with a tense situation, whereas their less-informed opponents would probably suffer from overcarefulness, wliich would seriously interfere with their natural game."
