The drawing-up of a schedule of works for the employment of additional labour will also be undertaken. The Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, mentioned this morning that since the announcement of the grant of £5000 made as the result of Ms representations while in Wellington last week, there had been a constant inquiry for employment. "The council this evening will draw up a schedule of works," he said. "The grant of £5000 by the Employment Promotion Board, through tho Commission'er of Employment, Mr J. S. Hunter, is assured, and all that remaina ds for, the council to decide upon the works to be carried out and put them in hand."
