Fantail Friendliness

ARCH. LOWE.

Sir, — That Mr F. H. Allan should see in the disturbance of Mother Earth by the feet of pedestrians, and presuniably the uncovenng thereby of the poor old carly-to-bed worm, a reason for the iriendly attitude of our -fantail to iiumans marks that observant gentleliian as of the keen: business type. .Fantails gather their food winle both food and bird are on the wing, and during a lifetime's grateful friendship with that little chap I cannot recall seeing him even touch the earth excepL upon very rare occasions. No, Mr Editor, the fantail does not coine to us to get something but, I believc, out of simple and most delightful friendliness. — ^Yours, etc.,

Hastings, July 28, 1937.
