81-Year-01d Man Living In Invercargill

IN VERCAEGILL,\ Last Night. The oldest returned sOldier in New Zealand is, it is believed, living in Invercargill. It was reported at a meeting of the executive of the Invercargill Returned Soldiers' Association that an ex-Serviceman wha had made application for a pension had presented himfifiK' for examination and it was learhed that he was 81 years old. Ho enlisted at the age of 59 and sailed with the Ninth Reinforcemen'ts in 1915. He saw considerable "line service" in Ftance and when asked how he managed to stand np to the long marches he replied that they did not trouble him and that he carried many a younger soldier's pack and rifle for him.
