WOMEN'S INSTITUTE HAUMOANA MEETING
The Haumoana Women's Institute held its meeting in the Hall on Thursday. The small attendance of members showed that confusion as' ]to date of meetings still exists, the fourth Thursday in the month now beingj the i-ew date. After the Ode an'd Aspiration the usual business 'waS quickly ' dis-' patehed. - . - . Members were asked ^o bring "Best bloom in the Garden" for competition arid a small prize was proinised , by the leader of the g;arden circle, Mrs ; O. J. Baker. Mrs Hayward, a former ] uiember, was weleomed and , given a • small gitt as an appreciation oi former services to t*he movement. ' The roll call, "Childhood Memories," ' caused much amusement. Mrs McCarthy then introduced Mr Blake, who entertaiued "nembers with a very interesting talk on Mauri legends, Mrs C. J. Baker reminded tnemibers of the "Rock Gai'den" class in the forthcoming shojv as it is hoped that as many as possible will enter. Mrs McCarthy and Mrs Baker offered their help to prospective competitions. Mrs Scott judged the Coconufe Ice, the awards being Mrs Goodriek 1, Mrs Oastles 2, MrS Baker jun. 3.
