FRANCO'S TROOPS HELD UP

(Received 27, 1.30 p.m.) MADRID, July 26. General Franco's counter-offensive taxed to tho t'ull by repecting Government troops from Brunete, is now at a standstill, at least teniporarily, by the desperate courage with which Government troops are defending the villa of Neuva Delacanada, hurling back one infantry attack after another. Meanwhile, the main body of Government troops are digging themselves in in expectation of stiffening the defence by the arrival of reinforcements.
