Puketitiri Gathering

The Puketitiri Women's Institute held its usual monthly meeting, Mrs . Turner, vice-president, presiding. Mrs Anderson, of Puketapu, was introduced, and she told a very pleasing story, for which she was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. A dainty afternoon tea was then served. Mrs Arthur Carswell and Miss Nicholls were welcomed as new members. An amusing animal-dfawing com- | petition followed, arranged , by Mrs Holt, the winner being Miss Nelson. Competitions for the month resulted as follows: — Cheese 6Cones, Mrs Wright 1, Mrs Carswell 2, Mrs Brice 3. Dressing table novelty, Miss Nelson 1, Mrs Jensen 2, Mrs Brice 3. The singing of the. National Anthem closed the meeting.
