The forthcoming concert was discussed and is to be held on the first Wednesday in August. , The Institute 's G'olden Thread, New Zealand, was taken by Mrs. Durwood (Murawai Beach), and Mrs. L. Stafford. (Wairakei). Both members gave a vivid description of these interesting place3 which was very much enjoyed by all present. A letter from the Institute 'e link in Canada, West O^ps, was read and its contents discussed. Mrs. B. McHardy gave aij interesting demonstration on hairpin work. some dainty articles exhibited being very much admired. The roll call, "Will you tell me," brought forth some helpful hints. A paragraph on the* afternoon '& proceedings, with adjectives supplied by members, caused a grc-at deal of amusement. The competitions fesulted as follows: — Best bloom (sllver miniature cup), Miss R. Blair 1, Mrs. Staniland 2, Mesdames W. E. Saunders and A. Duncan (equal) 3. '.Cheese econes, Mrs. Horne 1, Mrs. Mjtchell 2, Mrs. O. McHardy 3. Afternoon tea served by the' hostesses, Mesdames Eogers, A. Brown and Durwood, brought another pleasant afternoon to a close.
