Little Business in Any Section canterbury reports
(By Telegrapli-
CHRISTCHURCH," Last Night. .The grain and produce markets continue exceedingly light, with little business in any section. .There appears to be practically no life in &he potato market, though at mid-week e few Wellingtpn orders for Dakotas cansed a slight stir. No new business is being done with Auckland, which appears to, be well supplied with deliveries in execution of earlier contracts and with; consignments from here. The consign--ments are reported to be heavy, though no indication of their exact size is obtainable. About 13,000 sacks are due to arrive on the Auckland market at the week-end. Quotations: Dakotas, £5 15s on trucks; whites, £4 15s to £5. Ohaff is distinctly cheaper, because a number of farmers have decided to cut stocks that they held in case of shortage. Feed value is £4 a ton in the country, but even at this price it is hard to sell. Oats are dead, and there is no movement in pcas. - . - -- -
