BASQUE'S DRAMATIC ESCAPE FROM REBELS

(Received 24, 11.30 a.m.) ST. JEAN DE LUZ, July 23. With one man acting as skipper, pilot, stoker and crew, a large steam fishing ship arrived from Bermeo. Luciano Aranbura, a Basque militamau, who was captured at the fall of Bilbao and sentenced to death, escaped from the concentration camp at Bermeu, boarded the vessel, stoked up and put to sea. The ship was fired on by seutries. He lashed the tiller while stoking and accomplished the hazardous 14 hours' journey. Senor Aranbura does not know the fate of bis fellow escapees.
