Father on Trial at Supreme Court

PALMERSTON N. This Day. ^harles Frederick Neil Johnaon, ubourer, aged 39, of Palmerston North, jtood his trial in the Palmerston North Supreme Court yesterday in Tespect oi five serious offences alleged by two of his daughters, who declared in evidence that the happenings had extended over several years, while the family had lived at Ashhurst, Umutoi, Apiti and Palmerston North. Two of the charges were in respect of the eldest girl of the family, but tho jury acquitted accused. On the remaining three charges in respect oi tho sceond daughter, the jury was unable to agree. A new trial was hskcd 1'or and^granted for next weck.
