Wairoa Engineer Awarded Damages DREWITT v. HARKER

WAIRUA, Tnis uay. . At the Magistrate 's Court yesterday', Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., delivered a reserved judgment in a slander aetion heard last Court day. The plaiutiffi was C. J. P. Drewitt, engineer to the Wairoa Power Board, and the def endant, H. L. Harker, Mayor • of Wairoa. The claim was for £75, an.d the Magistrate awarde.d damages of £50, with costs. Mr L. T. Burhard, of Gisborne, appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr S Beaufry for the def endant. An appeal was iodged against ths judgment.
