Only two hullocks were offered. and these jumped up te 40/- per 100 lb. The female pens did not eontain th# heavy extra-prime .entries seen at late saies, but butehers s did not display any discrimination, as prices for even thd poorest quality leapt up. 4Auy cow is a cow to-day." x€* marked an auctioneer as he sold a cotg at fully £2 above late pric*es. The top price for medium to heavy cows was £10 10/-. The best qualitjJ ranged from 30/- to 32/- per lOOlb^i, Second quality made exceptlonally deaf buying at up to 25/- per lOOlbs. Prime heifers wer© ta. short supplj^ prices rising sharply by a big margin to 36/- p'er lOOlbs. The top price fos heifers was £11 for an entry of mediuni to heavy sorts offered on account Mt. Four dehorned aged Hereford cows* medium framed and in light "to medium order, only lacking quality, madsf a very good sale to £7 5/-. HEIFEB EATES On account of Taurapa , Station, c pen of six small to medium-grow® clean-bred Aberdeen Angus heifer^ well finished, a good quality entry, sold well at their weights to £8 15/-. On account of Mt. Erin Station, twd medium to heavy extra-prime Aberdeen Angus-Hereford cross, a splendid entry of young beef, brought £11. In - the same pen a dehorned small to medium® framed heifer brought £9 11/-. On account of Tauroa Staticm, -m small to medium-grown dehorned Hereford heifer, fairly finished, brought £8 5/-, • A Jersey heifer, quite well finished but very small, "sold exceedingly well at £6 10/-.
