HAVELOCK PAVILION
Start Made ^ with Domain Building
f0undati0ns laid down A start has been made with tbe erection of the pavilion at the Havelock North Domain, and tbe foundations are now being laid down, It is proposed to erect the building on the rise near the swimming-baths, with tbe front facing the Napier road. It will be recalled that last year a series of appeals and functions were arranged and that eventually over £285 was raised on behalf of the pavilion fund. Plans were submitted and- car efully considered by all parties concerned, who eventually decided upon a building that would oost approximately £500. Success met the negotiations with the Govei-nment to the extent of 10 per cent on the total cost of the new work. The_ building will be so constructed that it can be used as a pavilion for sporting fixtures on the domain and also as addifional dressing-shed accommodation during rush periods at the swimming-baths, access being available from the baths pavilion. There will also be facilities available for the pavilion to be used as a meet-ing-place or for entertaining visiting swimming teams if so desired.
