HAMILTON, Last Night. The fact that only 10/- is allowed to cover the cost of food supplied by employers to farm hands under the Agricultural Workers Act was attacked by several speakers at the provinQial conference of the Parmers' TTnion, It was considered a more reasonable figure would be 15/-. "Apart from the faet that the average farm hand will eat much mere than 10/- worth of food a week, tho cost of preparing the food should bo considered and also the work on tho part of the housewife," said Mr. A. Briscoe-Moore. "At least 5/- should be allowed for this." Members said the .10/- had been fixed before prices began to rise, and that it was now quito insufficient. It was decided to suggest to the responsible autliority that the faciors mentioned .should' bo considered when the value of bbard and lodging was again uiider review.
