Takapau Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Takapau Women 's Institute, which waa very largely attended, was held in the public hall and was presided over by Mrs. W. B, White, president, An invitation to attend the birthday party of the Norsewood Women 'a Institute was reeeived. A vote of sympathy was extended to Mrs. Stanley Stubbs, whose father died recently in Southiand. . Arrangements were made to attend the Dramg, Festival, to be held at Waipawa in July. Mrs. P. J. Wall, Hatuma, gave a very interesting demonstration on sweetmaking, and was accorded a very hearty vote of thanka on the motion of Mrs. W. Jackson. A compettiion for best daraod sock resulted: — Mrs. Lj, Johnston 1, Mrs. J. Thomson 2, Mrs. W. Jackson 3. A rubber mat, made from tyres and presented by Mr. Hewald, was won by Mrs. G. W. May. There was a "bring and buy," which caused some amusement when opening the parcels. The hostesses were Mesdames F. Fox, A. Foley, E. Hawkins and Miss Gamble.
