BRIDGE WEARS GOWN OF PARCHMENT SATIN

VAUTIER— SIMPSON I.illian Margaret. daughter of Mr and Mrs A. B. Simpson, Hamilton ioad,- Hataitai, was married at St. Jchu's Ghurch, Willis street, Wellington, recently, to John Russell, son of Mrs Vautier, Wellington, and the late Mr T. P. Vautier, Napier. The Rev. J. 14. Blanchard performed the ceremony. Tlie bride, who entered the church wilh her father, wore a trained gown of heavy parchment satin, The eowl neckliiie was relieved by a small collar iitting at the back of the neck, and a row of tiny buttons trimming the back of the bodice, which iinisbed in a basque. The tulle veil fell from a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a sheaf of lilies. There was a bridesmaid, Miss Nita Bates, and a flower-girl, Margaret Simpson, niece of the bride. The former wOre a frock of moire taifeta, the white background flowereji in bluo, pink and lemon, with a wreath of pink roses worn on the head. Her bouquet was of mixed pink flowers. The flowergirl wore a long frock of sky blue taffeta, frilled at the hem with a pink velvet sash, and wreath of pink roses on her head, and carried a posy of pinktoned flowers. Mr Alex McArthur was the best man. A reception was held at the home of the bride 's parents, oniy close relatives being present. Mrs Simpson wore a black and white figured silk crepe frock with black velvet hat, and spray of freesias and violets on her black fur coat. Mrs Vautier A;ore a black velvet hat and furs with her black eusemble, and also a spray of carnatnons. Mr and Mrs J. B. Vautier left later by aeropikne for Blenheim and^Nelson, Avhere tliey wili make their home. The bride trav'elied in a black wooi crepe frock overu which was worn a black asttakhan Russian coat, with hat and accessories to mateh, relieved by. a wliite flower and pearls.
