23-Year-OId Cadet's Success L0ND0N,7uTy 17. Cadet Birney won the King's Prize at Bisley with an aggregate of 283. His scores at 900 yards and 1000 yards were 72 and 68. When firing started at 1000 yards the | Ieaders were three British, .three Ausj tralians and three Canadians. Bimey | is a cadet officer aged 23 who was comj peting in the King's Prize for the first j time. I Lieuten&nt J, Smith (Territorial Artillery) was second with 281. Like Birney he learned shooting while at ^mbridge University.
