i i Representative Soccer MATCHES WITH WAIRARAPA A representative Soccer match between teams representing Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay was played on the Masterton Oval on Saturday under weather conditions which were tbe reverse of pleasant. Hawke's Bay won by five gpals to four. The teams were as follow: — Napier. — Neilsen, Gosling, Greaney, W. Clark, Metcalf, Smith, McGallum, Heath, Galbraith, Rigby, Mackie. Wairarapa. — Kelly, Barrett, A. liell, H. Campbell, J. Cruickshank, Pawson, L. King, A. Craig, R. Bell, A. Campbell, T. Brady. Play was fairly even all through, though Hawke's Bay showed a slight superiority in all departments of the game. The eombination of the Bay i'orwards proved defiuitely better on ihe heavy ground, and assisted them to score a victory by five gpals to four. JUN.IOR MATCH Hawke's Bay (11) beat Wairarapa (2) in a junior representative match. The Napier side displayed distinct superiority, outclassing their opponeuts. MATCH AT GISBORNE. The Napier United. Soccer team played a match at Gisborne on Saturday against the Mercantile (Gisborne) Club, for the Mercantile Cup. The match was played in sunshine^ and it was quickly seen that the two jsides were very evenly matched. Play veered from one end of the field to tlie other with rapid interchanges, neither side seeming capable of holding any advantage for long. When time was called the teams wero equal, having scored two goals each.
