(Eeceived 16, a.u p.m.; EIJGBY, July 15, „ Viodent thunderstorms have occurred in England. Weymouth, had a cloud-burst which. flooded many shops and houses.- Dorcester, Dartmouth, and Bristol had similar experiences. At the Leicester county cricket ground the torrent carried away chairs and forms as a result of the bursting of a storm-water sewer. In London lightning struck some houses. The storms were thc! worst within living memory. Lightning cau'sed extraordinai-y havoc during the thunderstorm. At least twenty houses and many chimney stacks were blasted and there were numerous fires at London and elsewhere. A Eoyal Air Force bomber was forced down during a thunderstorm at MeltonMobray, the pilot and observer being injured. A second bomber crashed in fiames .at Somerset, the two passengers and the pilot having miraeulous escapes. Weymouth experienced the worst floods for forty years. Children were taken from schools in boats in lowlying districts. Bristol was flooded to a depth of six feet.
