Motor Taxation.
A letter was received by the Patangata County Council from the Matamata County Council, asking sapport for the following remit: — "That this council is of the opinion that the timo ia ovordue for the more cquitable distribution of motor taxation, aud as a ineans of enabling county councils to eiiioicntly maintam roads other than uiain highway s, wo suggOst a £1 for £1 subsidy oh all ratos for roadlng purposes." The letter atated that tho remit wae to be placed before the C'ouutics Confcrence in August, aiid asked the council to give it deep cousideration.
