First Quarterly Meeting

NORSEWOOD, Last Night. TIj0 first quarterlr meeting of the Norsewood and District R.S.A. was held in the Reading Room, Norsewood, Mr W. Te Tau, • president, presiding over a good attendance of "Diggers." The annual re-union, which was set down for Saturday, August 7, is to be held in thg Institute Hall, South Norsewood, and in order to carry out prelimmary arrangements connected tlierewith, the following committee, to aet in collaboration with the president and secretary, were duly elected: Mc«£rs A. C. Olson, M. A. McLaren, W. Scrgeant, L. C. Bishop' and A. T. N i.cholson. "It was unanimously decided to hold the second annual ball in the Norsewood Town Hall, and to mauago this function, the association appointed & . con-mittee, thg personnel of which is as follows: Mossts W. Te Tau, F. Balley, L. C. Bishop, F. Bishop, M. A. McLaren, A. R, Mildon, and E. C. Stretton. The meeting placed on record it^ ,keen appreciation of the action of th'o Dannevirke County Coupncil in the matter of improvements effected in Ihe condition of the memorial plots, and it was decided to request the caretaker to repair the fences of both plots and thus complete the job. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the business, after which the membefs sat down to an. enjoyable supper, interspersed with illuminating anecdotes of bygone days.
