— - — • i Jo-Day's Realisations At Waipukurau CATTLE PENS DESERTED Hoggets constituted the principal offering at the Waipukurau stock sale io-d&y, when a-good market ruled for well-grown lines. Some good quality was available in the shoru pens. Oa account of Mr H. Parsons, an attraetive liue of shorn Romney wether Hoggets made 19/0 and medium-gprown yroolly lines off turnips made to 19/7. Shorn Romney ewe hoggets in bright order brought 24/10. An entry of woolly ewe hoggets, well grown out tfhowing a touch of Corriedale, brought 27/6.' , Very few hreeding ewes were penxied, the best entry being a mixedaged lot of ewes on account of Te Awa Station, which brought 30/-. * Owing to the lack of quality and Tery little competition, the market for ihe fat sheep section was very dull and lifeless, with the /;Sult that many of the lots were passed. Some of the Hoggets were very small-grown and not pp to the order of the store-section ontries. Most of the ewae passed were in hard condition. The cattle section was almost deserted. > J7o fat entries were penned, ajid the pens of weaner steers and heifers in from Porangahau made up the store pens. Most of these were baekjward and in hard condition and would require a great deal of attention to Tbring them on. Realisations were as under STOEE SHEEP. An entry of small-grown black-faced Hoggets in medium order, a nseful tolding-over line^ were passed at 15/10. The following entry of similarly"bred hoggets, better grown and in medium to forward order, being offi| turnips, were passed at 18/-. . An entry of 422 fairl well grown, well woolled Romney ewe hoggets showing a slight touch of Corriedale strain and in very healthy condition passed at 27/6. ~ .On acconnt jf Te Awa Station, 200 '4, 6 and 8-th. ewes depastured with S.D. rams since Mareh 9 sold at 30/-. These well-framed ewes were in fresh condition, having been well done, and carried a good slipe. On account of the same station, a line of medium-grown woolly Romney wether hoggets in healthy order sold at 17/6. A small-grown line of Romney ewe hoggets, unshorn, in poor condition and very * backwaxd, brought 18/- in a slow sale. An entry of 5 and 6-year ewes depastured with S.D. rams since February 24 and showing up well in lamb were passed at 22/-. These ewes were very prixed in wool and in quality. On account of Mr. H. PaTsons, Wallingford, an entry of 128 fairly-grown shorn Romney wether hoggets off turryps, in very healthy condition and bright, having been well done, sold at 19/6. A bid of 19/7 seeured a line of 105 medium-grown well-woolled Romney wethej hoggets, in very goo'd condition, healthy and sound. Down from Ongaonga, 109 Romney wether hoggets, unshorn andjn similar order to the previous entry and should earry over well, met the market at 19/4. On account of Te Awa Station, 99 shorn Romney ewe hoggets, fairly grown and in bright, healthy order, having been well done, realised 24/10. Dbwn from Springhill, a line of small to medium-grown wether hoggets, very mised in size and containing a perceatage which had been shorn, sold at 17/-. FAT SHEEP « On account of Mr G. .C. Willlams, Nangipatu, 40 medium-framed ewes, well woolled and in prime order, were passed at 20/-, fully 5/- clieaper than last weck. An entry of 28 ligliter ewe's, in medinm order, sold at 19/-. A pen of very small-grown wethers, in medium condition, sold at 26/-. • An entry of seven medium to heavy earlv-shorii' wetbers, prime tinish, sold at 31/-. An entry og 17 small-grown Downcross wethers in quite good order sold at 23/-. A bid of 15/- was offered for a pen of small grown Down-cross hoggets in medium order. * A line of ewes mixed in quality and carrying a good .slipe sold at 20/3. , An entry of small-grown Down-cross hoggets, medium finisli, sold at 17/-. A line of better-grown sitnilarlybred hoggets, medium finisb, were passed afc 10/3. STOEE WEANERS Tn from Porangahau, an entry of small-grown Aberdeen- Angus weaner Ijeifers, in Hglit condition, and rathei uneven in quality, made a good sale at A small entry of medium-grown Aberdeen Angus weaner steers, in from Porangahau, well coated, sold at £4 29/-. From the same source, an entry of small-grown similarly-hred weaner steers, in Hght and back ward condition, brought £3 12/6. Also 5u from Poraugaliau, a small pen oi" Aberdeen Angus weaner heil'ers, in. very poor order and stunted, were sold" at £2 3/-. .
