AUCKLAND, This Day. The barque'fitine Gap Pilar, owned and commanded by Mr Adrian Seligiuan, of London, arrived at Auckland this mofhing after a 15-day paseage from Sydney in contiauatiOn of a world cruiee vrhich began at London in Sep* tembOr last. Membets of the crew eaeli paid a pferaium of £100 at the start of the Vdyage, but othefs have been engaged at ports of eall. The 27-year-old captaifL served three years before the fnast in the barqno Olivebank. In those days, he said, he had often felt a desire to own such a eraft and to call at Tristan da Cunha, Sonth Atlantic. That was how the present adventure etarfced. After leaVing London, the Cap Pilar called at Madeir'a, Teneriffe, Rio de Janeiro, Tristan da Cunha, Capetown and Sydney. Mr Seligmafi s&id he would possiblyv stop at Auckland for six or eight weeks. He might then trade dn the South Sea islands. The barquentine made a fine spectacle Coming into the harbour under fnll sail nntil taken in hand by a tug, which guided her to a berth at the Western ViadUCt.
