Enjoyable Evcning at Waipukurau

WAIPUKURAU, Last night. On Friday eveniug merabers of the vooal group of the Central Hawke's Buy braneh of ihe British Music Society m et at Mrs J. L. Brathwaite's residence, Porangahau road, Waipukurau, when an enjoyable evening was devoted to music' of the sixteenth seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Foliowing, was the short but very entertaining programme of songs given: "Caro Mio Ben'' (Giordani) and "Ombra Mai Fa"— Largo (Handel), Mrs J. L. Brathwaite; "Itose SoftJy BloomingJ' (Spohr) and "Dawn Gentle Flower" (Sterndale Bennett), Mrs H. Coats; Ferree German songs (Mozart) "Should He Upbraid," (Sir H. It! Bishop), and "Let Me Waiuler Not Unseen'» (Handel), Mrs P. A. Anderson. At tlie conelusiou of the programme the hostess dispersed a very dainty supper. Those present inoluded : — Mesdanios P. A. Anderson, L). II. Clarke, E. JUcNutt, F. V. Ward, lli Coats, H. Cottrell, Alisses H. Jolnistonc, Glasgow, and Mr U. Cottrell.
