In the match against France McGrath defeated Boussus, 4—6, 6-^2, 6 — 3; Crawford defeated Destremeau, 6—3, 6-— 2; Brugnon and Boussus defeated Bromwich and Sproule, 6 — 1, 6 — 2, 2—6, 6—0. Crawford and McGrath defeated Barnard and Petra 14 — 16, 6 — 3, 3 — 6, 6 — 4, 6 — 2* France and Australia won an equal number of matches, so the umpiro decided to count the sets, giviug France the victory by 21 sets.
