SPRINGBOKS, BACKS

Weakness Shown in Match with Queensland (Received 12, 11.0 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 12. The Sydney Morning Herald's representative says : The Springboks smashed Queensland' s defence with swift passing rushes and many sharp thrusts. It was a convincing exhibition of the open game and, weak though the defence became, nothingi could detract from the excellence of the Springboks' form. The Daily Telegraph says : One thing the Queenslanders did was to prove that there was a weakness among the Springboks backe when bustled. With the Queensland forwards sweeping down the field, the Springbok backs were disconcerted, missing the ball xn the air and gxving poor passes, and mishandling.
